Just about all the Microsoft business applications and development tools are less expensive, easier to use, quicker to turn around projects than the tools in the Oracle/J2EE environment.
It would take a developer two days to touch 100 HTML files to make a change using J2EE. Making the same change in Visual Studio .NET takes 20 minutes to change the rules in the configuration file.

Steven holds several technical certifications, authored multiple publications, and has presented at technical conferences and functions all over the United States. Shaun McAravey founded SoftSource Consulting in July 2001 to provide expert software consulting services on the Microsoft technology stack. He has over twenty years of experience in software development. Previously Shaun was the Chief Technology Officer and VP of Emerging Technology at STEP Technology. Shaun is a frequent speaker at technical conferences. He has presented at the Microsoft Global Executive Roundtable, Microsoft Global Summit, the Microsoft Technical Briefing, SD West and other national developer conferences. Shaun has also served as the Portland Microsoft Regional Director and has been a Microsoft MVP. He holds a bachelor's degree, majoring in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics.
Director of Engineering
After getting her start at Oregon Software, Laura Freeman worked at a number of different software companies in Portland and Pittsburgh and Washington D.C. She did the startup thing, but did not make millions from it.
In her spare time, Laura makes metal sculpture and plays Words With Friends too much.

Cheryl joined SoftSource in 2004, and has over thirteen years of finance experience in the software industry. Cheryl is responsible for overseeing SoftSource's finances, human resources, administration and operations. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Portland State University.

Tim joined SoftSource in 2013 and has over 18 years of Recruiting experience within the software industry. He has extensive experience working with multiple technologies and is responsible for overseeing SoftSource’s Recruiting efforts in the Portland and Seattle areas.
